Nearly 900,000 Cellphones Flushed Down in UK Annually

Posted June 5th @ 4:30 pm by The Internet Journalist

That’s a big number. Looks like the secret of why cellphone producers are doing so well has been uncovered.

How many people are in the UK? 60.7 million? That’s about 1.5% of the population

I’m trying to contain my laughter. The number was made up by SimplySwitch, a website that compares different prices, so it could be bogus, but it doesn’t sound unlikely.

  • 315,000 lost in taxies
  • 225,000 lost on buses
  • 116,000 lost in laundry (happened to me once)
  • 58,500 lost to dogs
  • Looks like conversations on the loo are quite a common thing, just that the fingers aren’t as good as they need to be!
