I can’t agree more with the following statement, the opener of the article:
It’s easy to put something in the refrigerator and forget about it.
Most people don’t want to admit to being downright wasteful, but almost all of us are. We always seem to carelessly through away some food, or to “forget” about last nights dinner, which would be perfect for a quick lunch.
But (Wow, I’m defending wasteful people) sometimes we just don’t always know how long something can last, and then we confuse what to use when!
Well, to clear some things up, here’s a useful list (sourced from the link below) that shows how long certain foods will remain fresh in your refrigerator, so no more excuses!
Here’s the list:
BABY FOOD: LASTS 1 – 3 DAYS IN FRIDGE ONCE OPENED
PASTA SAUCE: LASTS 5 DAYS ONCE OPENED
MAYONAISE: LASTS 2 MONTHS ONCE OPENED
CHEESE: LASTS 1 – 4 WEEKS
EGGS: LASTS 3 – 5 WEEKS
LEFTOVERS: LAST 3 – 4 DAYS
note: A lot of these are very common ingredients in many meals, which means that it will apply to a lot of different foods!
